March MADness

Despite having my worst NCAA bracket in the history of me, I have to say that I still enjoyed the month of March. Here are a few of my bracket stats before I move on to discuss the status of my new year resolutions. Number of correctly picked final 4 teams: 1 (thanks, Duke). Number of correctly picked elite 8 teams: 3. Average position in the few pools that I joined: 12.3 out of 14. Shameful as those numbers are, I must admit that it was pretty fun watching the craziness that was this year’s NCAA tournament. More…

Progress on my goals
So far this year I have read Clean Code by Robert Martin (aka Uncle Bob) and Getting Things Done (GTD) by David Allen. It took me a couple of days into March to finish up GTD but I’ve more than made up for it since then. In just a few days, I’ve read nearly half of Test-Driven Development by Kent Beck. I’ve been blown away by how easy (and quick) a read it has been so far. It is really great learning material. More…
