My current training plan [link]

I’ve had a couple of people ask what I’m doing now, so I figured it would be good to share it here. The only modification that I’ve done is bumping the Thursday runs to Friday so I can play basketball that day. I’m also playing basketball on Mondays.

Championship

I may have been born in Wichita, but my team in tonight’s NIT Championship game is from Alabama. The game between Wichita State and UA will be played in Madison Square Garden and televised on ESPN2 at 6PM Central. Hopefully the Tide will become one of only 3 teams to end the 2010-11 season with a win (the other two being winners of the NCAA and CBI tournaments).

NIT Bracket

It can be very hard to keep up with the NIT tourney since it’s not the “Big Dance”. This page on ESPN shows the bracket with game results and links to the teams and game recaps.

BBall Iron Bowl Rd2 – Game day

BBall Iron Bowl Rd2 – Game day

The Tide celebrated a little too much in the final minutes. Seldom-used reserves Jason Reese and Shawn Taylor were both whistled for technical fouls for hanging on the rim, and even Gottfried couldn’t restrain a grin after the 6-foot-2 Reese’s dunk.

March MADness

My burning bracket

Despite having my worst NCAA bracket in the history of me, I have to say that I still enjoyed the month of March. Here are a few of my bracket stats before I move on to discuss the status of my new year resolutions. Number of correctly picked final 4 teams: 1 (thanks, Duke). Number of correctly picked elite 8 teams: 3. Average position in the few pools that I joined: 12.3 out of 14. Shameful as those numbers are, I must admit that it was pretty fun watching the craziness that was this year’s NCAA tournament. More…

Blue Chips basketball highlight video

I recently came across this gem of a highlight video that I made of our intramural team in college.  Honestly, I had forgotten that I even made it.  A little background, we used to take our intramurals very seriously. Our team in the video had two guys with their names in the AHSAA record books for being in the top 10 in career scoring.  Anyways, I’d always try to get someone at our games to tape us, and I would review the film later. This video is a compilation of our highlights over the course of that particular season (I believe it was 2005). It’s fun to go back and watch this now.
