2009 Resolutions

2008 December 23
by Drew

In keeping with the tradition of making New Year’s resolutions, here is a list of things I resolve to do in 2009.

Physical resolutions

  1. Run a 5k
  2. Run a 10k
  3. Run a half-marathon
  4. Eat fast food no more than once per week

Professional resolutions

  1. Attend at least one major conference
  2. Attend at least two minor conferences
  3. Get involved in BSDA and Bug.Net
  4. Read 12 professional development books (technical and nontechnical).  Of course, that’s one per month.

Personal resolutions

  1. Find a church home
  2. Read the bible all the way through
  3. Save up a down payment for a house
  4. Find a relatively competitive basketball league to join

So there they are.  I will probably post some updates occasionally to let you know how things are coming.  What resolutions do you have for 2009?

Come to some IPSA meetings, they’ve been doing a great job with topics lately.

Also, I hope to see you at Birmingham Barcamp, probably in April.

I actually joined IPSA earlier this fall. I work so far away that I pretty much have to run as soon as the meetings are over with; so, I haven’t had much of a chance to meet too many other members.

I’m definitely going to be planning on going to Bham Barcamp if at all possible. I wish that I could have made it last year.

I’d get into an affordable house ASAP. Prices and loan rates are a buyer’s market.
