WordCamp Birmingham — Day 2
I must confess that I did not take as active a role today as I had hoped. Katie and I had intentions of taking part in the round table discussions this afternoon, but alas, life got in the way. That said, I do feel like the two presentations that we did attend were very valuable. CBS 42 even came out today and got some footage of the event (see end of post). More…
WordCamp Birmingham — Day 1
Today was the first day of WordCamp Birmingham, and what a day it was. It all started with a great presentation by a WordPress Developer Emeritus, named Dougal Campbell. Wordcamp Birmingham
Saturday marks the beginning of the first WordCamp to be held in the Southeastern U.S. It will take place at several different places around Birmingham over the course of the weekend. I’m really looking forward to becoming more involved with WordPress, so this weekend is a wonderful opportunity. Not only that, but it will be great getting to meet a bunch of other people with similar interests.
Did I mention that Katie will be there as well?
If you have not signed up but are interested in going registration is still open. Just go to here to get signed up. You can find more information here.
Kreativime has launched
Pretty much this entire summer I’ve been trying to get my wife interested in social media. It began slowly, showing her the value of Twitter– convincing her that it was worth her time. Then I began to put the blogging seed in her head by showing her some blogs that aligned with her interest.
Tonight it all seemed to come to fruition as she made her first post and officially launched Kreativime.com. The name of the website is a play on the word creativity, so it is pronounced kree-ey-tiv-i-mee. Katie is an awesome writer and has much excitement about the potential for the blog, so it should be exciting to see where it goes.
